The practice of religion requires discipline and structure—the discipline of regular prayer and structuring one’s life to regularly attend religious services.”

Additionally, Carnethon suggests that individuals with the type of self-control necessary for religious and spiritual practices are more likely to sleep and exercise regularly, eat a balanced diet, and take their medication as prescribed, some of the key metrics the American Heart Association (AHA) uses to determine heart health.

For example, greater frequency of attending religious services or activities was associated with a “16% increase in odds of meeting ‘intermediate’ or ‘ideal’ metrics for physical activity; 10% for diet; 50% for smoking; 12% for blood pressure; and 15% for overall cardiovascular health score,” according to a press release from the AHA.

“There is also some component of the beliefs that may promote better health as religious people may endorse the sentiment that the body is a temple, and so they may be less likely to smoke cigarettes or drink heavily,” she continues. “Religiosity often requires respecting authority in the church. It is possible that individuals who are willing to follow the leadership in the church may be more likely to hold health care providers in high regard.”

The study, which is believed to be the first of its kind, analyzed responses from nearly 3,000 African American adults in the tri-county area of Jackson, Miss. About 70% of the participants were women, and the average age at study enrollment was 54 years old.

Overall, African Americans have poorer heart health compared with white adults and are twice as likely to die from heart disease as white people of the same age. The study’s lead author, Dr. LaPrincess C. Brewer, a preventive cardiologist and assistant professor of medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., believes the findings highlight the important role culturally tailored health initiatives and recommendations may play in advancing health equity.

“This is especially important for socioeconomically disenfranchised communities faced with multiple challenges and stressors,” Brewer notes in the press release. “Religiosity and spirituality may serve as a buffer to stress and have therapeutic purposes or support self-empowerment to practice healthy behaviors and seek preventive health services.”

While going to church, attending Bible study, and praying on a regular basis may not be the first images that come to mind when discussing self-care, a new study from the Journal of the American Heart Association says that religiousness and spirituality may be linked to better heart health among African Americans. “Religion is often described as […]

[1

US: No gas and oil aid for Europe The US will not rescue Europe’s increasingly energy-depleting Europe this winter, say the bosses of America’s largest energy company.

According to the EU bosses, the US is the EU’s partner and can assist the member states of the globalist union and replace the energy from Russia that the EU countries have sanctioned away.

EU countries have already become increasingly dependent on US energy exports and EU leaders have stated that they will increase US gas and oil imports by the winter.

But that won’t happen, writes the Financial Times , citing Wil VanLoh. boss of US energy giant Quantum Energy Partners.

“There will be no rescue operation. Don’t forget that you don’t have to agree with Dugin, but you have to take seriously that a lot of Russians believe him.

The balance of power in Ukraine has shifted significantly in recent days. This must be understood in its entirety, writes Alexander Dugin .

The Kiev counter-attacks were generally unsuccessful in the Kherson region, but were unfortunately effective in the Kharkiv region. The situation in Kharkiv and the forced withdrawal of the Allied troops are the turning point. Apart from the psychological consequences and the legitimate feelings of the patriots, it must be noted that in the entire history of the SMO we have reached the “point of no return”.

Everyone is now recommending extraordinary measures to turn the situation around, and some of these suggestions are very rational. We make no claim to originality, but only try to summarize the main points and recommendations and place them in the global geopolitical context.

World War III

We are on the brink of World War III, which the West is compulsively pursuing. And this is no longer fear or expectation, but a fact. Russia is at war with the collective West, with NATO and its allies (though not with all of them: Turkey and Greece have their own point of view and some European countries, especially but not only France and Italy, do not want to actively participate in a war with Russia ). Yet the threat of a third world war is getting closer and closer.

Whether it will come to the use of nuclear weapons is an open question. But the chance of a nuclear Armageddon is growing by the day. It is obvious, and many US military commanders (such as former US commander in Europe Ben Hodges) openly declare that the West will not even be satisfied with our complete withdrawal from the territory of the former Ukraine, they will end up on their own soil and it urges “unconditional surrender” (Jens Stoltenberg), “de-imperialization” (Ben Hodges), dismantling of Russia.

In 1991 the West was satisfied with the collapse of the USSR and our ideological surrender, mainly by accepting Western liberal ideology, political system and economy under Western leadership. Today, the red line for the West is the existence of a sovereign Russia, even within the borders of the Russian Federation.

The AFU’s counter-attack in the Kharkiv region is a direct West’s attack on Russia. Everyone knows that this offensive was organized, prepared and equipped by the US and NATO military leadership and was under their direct supervision. It is not only the use of NATO military equipment, but also the direct involvement of Western air force intelligence agencies, mercenaries and instructors. In the eyes of the West, this is the beginning of “our end”. Once we have created a weakness in the defense of the areas under our control in the Kharkiv region, we can be further defeated. This is no small success of the Kiev counter-offensive, but the first tangible success of NATO forces’ Drang nach Osten.

Of course, one can try to attribute this to temporary “technical difficulties” and postpone the substantive analysis of the situation until later. But that would only delay the realization of the fait accompli and thus only depress and demoralize us.

It is therefore worth coldly admitting that the West has declared war on us and is already waging it. We did not choose this war, we did not want it. Even in 1941 we did not want war with Nazi Germany and refused to believe in it to the very end. But in the current situation, where the war is de facto waged against us, that is not decisive. All that matters now is that we win it by defending the right of Russia.

The end of the SMO

The SMO as a limited operation to liberate the Donbass and some areas in Novorossi has come to an end. It has gradually degenerated into a full-fledged war with the West, in which the Nazi terrorist regime in Kiev itself plays only an instrumental role. The attempt to besiege it and liberate some of the Nazi-controlled Ukrainian territories in Novorossia, while preserving the existing geopolitical balance in the world as a technical operation, has failed, pretending that we are just continuing the SMO – somewhere on the periphery of the public attention – is simply meaningless.

We are now at war against our will and this affects every Russian citizen: each of us is in the crosshairs of the enemy, the terrorist, the sniper, the DRG.

That said, the situation is such that, all things considered, it is impossible to return everything to its original conditions – before February 24, 2022. What has happened is irreversible and we should not fear concessions or compromises from our side. The enemy will only accept our total surrender, submission, dismantling and occupation. So we simply have no choice.

The end of the SMO means the need for a profound transformation of the entire political and social system of modern Russia – to bring the country to war strength – politically, economically, culturally and informationally. While the SMO has remained an important, but not the only, content of Russian social life. The war with the West subdues everything.

The ideological front

Russia is in a state of ideological war. The values championed by the globalist West – LGBT, legalization of perversion, drugs, the fusion of man and machine, total mixing through uncontrolled migration, etc. – are inextricably linked to its ideological front – are inextricably linked to its political-military hegemony and its unipolar system. Western liberalism and the global political-military and economic dominance of the US and NATO are one and the same. It is absurd to fight the West and accept (even partially) its values, in the name of which it is waging a war against us, a war of destruction.

An ideology of our own would not only be “useful” for us today; if we don’t have it, we will lose. The West will continue to attack us, both from the outside, with armed and trained Ukrainian Nazis, and from within, with the ever-liberal fifth column cleverly corrupting the minds and souls of the younger generations. Without our own ideology, which clearly defines who is friend and who is enemy, we would be almost powerless in such a situation.

The ideology must be proclaimed immediately and its essence must be a total and direct rejection of Western ideology, globalism and totalitarian liberalism, with all its instrumental subspecies – including neo-Nazis, racism and extremism.

Mobilization

Mobilization is inevitable. War affects everyone and everything, but mobilization does not mean forcibly sending conscripts to the front, this can be prevented, for example, by forming a full-fledged volunteer movement, with the necessary compensation and government support.

We must focus on veterans and special support for the Novorossian fighters. Russia has few, but there are also supporters abroad. We should not be shy about forming anti-Nazi and anti-globalization inter-brigades with honest people from East and West.

Above all, we should not underestimate the Russians. We are a nation of heroes. At great cost, but a terrible enemy we have not defeated once or twice in our glorious history. Also this time we will be victorious, if only in the war against the West, and this time it will be a people’s war. We win the people’s wars, wars in which the great people have awakened to fight.

Mobilization implies a complete change of information policy. The peace norms (which essentially consist of blindly copying Western programs and entertainment strategies that do nothing but corrupt society) must be abolished. Television and the media in general must become instruments of patriotic mobilization in wartime. All performances on the front, also on the home front. It has started little by little, but for now it only concerns a small part of the channels. But it should be everywhere.

Culture, information, education, enlightenment, politics, the social sphere: everything has to work in unison for the war, that is, for victory.

Economy

Each sovereign state can issue as much national currency as it needs. If he is truly sovereign. War with the West makes it pointless to continue playing economic games by the rules. A war economy can only be sovereign. For wins must be spent as much as necessary. Only for strategic purposes should the expenditure be concentrated in a special circuit. Corruption in such circumstances should be equated with a war crime.

War and comfort are incompatible. Comfort as a goal, as a reference point in life, must be abandoned; only nations prepared for hardship can win real wars.

In these situations, there is always a new crop of economists whose goal is to save the state, especially this one. Dogmas, schools, methods and approaches are secondary.

Is Ukraine Overpowering Russia?

We can call such an economy a mobilization economy or simply a war economy.

Our allies

In any war, the role of allies is extremely important. Today Russia doesn’t have that many, but they do exist. First of all, we are talking about the countries that reject the Western liberal unipolar order. These are the proponents of multipolarism, such as China, Iran, North Korea, Serbia, Syria, the Central African Republic, Mali, but also, to some extent, India, Turkey, some Islamic, African and Latin American countries ( notably Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela).

To confront them, all available means must be mobilized, not only professional diplomacy, but also popular diplomacy, which again requires ideology. We must convince our allies that we have decided on an irreversible break with globalism and Western hegemony, and that we are ready to do everything in our power to build a multipolar world. Here we must be consistent and resolute. The time of half views and compromises is over. The war of the West against Russia divides humanity on different sides of the barricades.

Mental factor

The core of the global confrontation that has begun is the spiritual, religious aspect. Russia is at war with an anti-religious civilization that is fighting God and overturning the very foundations of spiritual and moral values: God, the Church, the family, gender, man. Despite all the differences between orthodoxy, traditional Islam, Judaism, Hinduism or Buddhism, all religions and the cultures built upon them recognize divine truth, the high spiritual and moral dignity of man, honoring traditions and institutions – the state, the family, the community. The modern West has abolished all this and replaced it with virtual reality, extreme individualism, the destruction of gender, universal surveillance, a totalitarian “abolition culture”, a post-truth society.

Overt Satanism and outright racism are thriving in Ukraine, and the West only supports them.

We are dealing with what the orthodox elders call the “civilization of the antichrist.” The role of Russia, therefore, is to unite believers of different faiths in this decisive battle.

You should not wait for the world enemy to destroy your house, kill your husband, son or daughter… At some point it will be too late. God forbid we experience such a moment.

The enemy offensive in the Kharkiv region is just that: the beginning of a real war of the West against us.

The West is showing its intention to start a war of destruction against us – World War III. We must bring together all of our deepest national potential to repel this attack. By any means: thought, military might, economy, culture, art, internal mobilization of all state structures and each of us.

Source

Here is Putin’s favorite Russian nationalist ideologue, Alexander Dugin, in less sunny words. Data were accessed securely and safely via the NHS Digital Trusted Research Environment for England, and the SAIL Databank for Wales.

In the first week after a COVID-19 diagnosis, people were 21 times more likely to have a heart attack or stroke, conditions which are mainly caused by blood clots blocking arteries. This dropped to 3.9 times more likely after 4 weeks.

The researchers also studied conditions caused by blood clots in the veins: these include deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism – a clot in the lungs that can be fatal. The risk of blood clots in the veins was 33 times greater in the first week after a COVID-19 diagnosis. This dropped to eight times higher risk after four weeks.

The higher risk of blood clots after COVID-19 remained for the study duration, although by 26 to 49 weeks it had dropped to 1.3 times more likely for clots in the arteries and 1.8 times more likely for clots in the veins.

Most previous research studied the impact of COVID-19 on blood clotting in people hospitalised with COVID-19. The new study shows that there was also an effect on people whose COVID-19 did not lead to hospitalisation, although their excess risk was not as great as for those who had severe disease and were hospitalised.

The authors say that the risk of blood clots to individuals remains low. In people at the highest risk – men over the age of 80 – an extra 2 men in 100 infected may have a stroke or heart attack after COVID-19 infection.

The data analysed was collected in 2020, before the mass vaccination rollout in the UK, and before more recent COVID-19 variants such as Delta and Omicron were widespread. The researchers are now studying data beyond 2020 to understand the effect of vaccination and the impact of newer variants.

The research is published in the journal Circulation and was supported by the BHF Data Science Centre at Health Data Research UK, the Longitudinal Health and Wellbeing COVID-19 National Core Study, Data and Connectivity National Core Study and the CONVALESCENCE study of long COVID.

Jonathan Sterne, Professor of Medical Statistics and Epidemiology at the University of Bristol, Director of the NIHR Bristol Biomedical Research Centre and Director of Health Data Research UK South West, who co-led the study, said: “We are reassured that the risk drops quite quickly – particularly for heart attacks and strokes – but the finding that it remains elevated for some time highlights the longer-term effects of COVID-19 that we are only beginning to understand.”

Angela Wood, Professor of Biostatistics at the University of Cambridge, Associate Director of the British Heart Foundation Data Science Centre, and study co-lead, said: “We have shown that even people who were not hospitalised faced a higher risk of blood clots in the first wave. But the real story for public consumption isn’t the private divorce court details.

It is the secret military information about drug running, weapon sales, sexual perversion and assassination squads she learned firsthand from her husband, U.S. Marine Corps Col. If you are in the click, you are above the law and literally can get away with murder.

For years, mostly when he was drinking, he told me how he and others in this elite military group would kill people,” said Griggs, as she mentioned name after high-powered name and story after-detailed story about sexual perversion, murder, military hit squads, brainwashing and mind control, all activities sanctioned, participated in and condoned by a group of military and political elite. “There were many other things and people he told me about which were startling, things I’ll tell you later. But George is like a robot, glazed eyes and all. While he drinks, he sort of comes alive. It is hard to explain unless you actually see him. He told me he was the No. 1 shooter for a long time for a group of powerful people at the top.

If a guy is too honest, for example, they get rid of him.” “As far as the sheer numbers of people involved in this cap and gown, skull and bones secret society, it’s hard to say. But it is based on old friendships, college and prep school relationships, covering up secrets and sexual perversion. “My husband told me about all the sexually perverted rituals, like anal and oral sex in coffins at drunken parties and running naked in the woods at Bohemian Grove. The Act foresaw no need for the Courts and Congress to oversee a simple information-aggregation facility, and therefore subordinated it exclusively to the President, through the National Security Council he controls.

Within a year, the young agency had already slipped the leash of its intended role of intelligence collection and analysis to establish a covert operations division. Within a decade, the CIA was directing the coverage of American news organizations, overthrowing democratically elected governments (at times merely to benefit a favored corporation), establishing propaganda outfits to manipulate public sentiment, launching a long-running series of mind-control experiments on unwitting human subjects (purportedly contributing to the creation of the Unabomber), and—gasp—interfering with foreign elections. From there, it was a short hop to wiretapping journalists and compiling files on Americans who opposed its wars.

In 1963, no less than former President Harry Truman confessed that the very agency he personally signed into law had transformed into something altogether different than he intended, writing:

“For some time I have been disturbed by the way CIA has been diverted from its original assignment. It has become an operational and at times a policy-making arm of the Government. This has led to trouble…”

Many today comfort themselves by imagining that the Agency has been reformed, and that such abuses are relics of the distant past, but what few reforms our democracy has won have been watered-down or compromised. The limited “Intelligence Oversight” role that was eventually conceded to Congress in order to placate the public has never been taken seriously by either the committee’s majority—which prefers cheerleading over investigating—or by the Agency itself, which continues to conceal politically-sensitive operations from the very group most likely to defend them.

“Congress should have been told,” said [Senator] Dianne Feinstein. “We should have been briefed before the commencement of this kind of sensitive program. Director Panetta… was told that the vice president had ordered that the program not be briefed to Congress.”

How can we judge the ultimate effectiveness of oversight and reforms? Well, the CIA plotted to assassinate my friend, American whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg, in 1972, yet nearly fifty years of “reforms” did little to inhibit them from recently sketching out another political murder targeting Julian Assange. The people, or in our case some subset of people, institute reasonable laws to which government and citizen alike must answer. The sense of justice that arises within such a society is not produced as a result of the mere presence of law, which can be tyrannical and capricious, or even elections, which face their own troubles, but is rather derived from the reason and fairness of the system that results.

What would happen if we were to insert into this beautiful nation of laws an extralegal entity that is not directed by the people, but a person: the President? Have we protected the nation’s security, or have we placed it at risk?

This is the unvarnished truth: the establishment of an institution charged with breaking the law within a nation of laws has mortally wounded its founding precept.

From the year it was established, Presidents and their cadres have regularly directed the CIA to go beyond the law for reasons that cannot be justified, and therefore must be concealed — classified. The primary result of the classification system is not an increase in national security, but a decrease in transparency. Without meaningful transparency, there is no accountability, and without accountability, there is no learning.

The consequences have been deadly, for both Americans and our victims. When the CIA armed the Mujaheddin to wage war on Soviet Afghanistan, we created al-Qaeda’s Osama bin Laden. Ten years later, the CIA is arming, according to then-Vice President Joe Biden, “al-Nusra, and Al-Qaeda and the extremist elements of jihadis coming from other parts of the world.” After the CIA runs a disinformation operation to make life hard for the Soviet Union by fueling a little proxy war, the war rages for twenty-six years — far beyond the Union’s collapse.

Do you believe that the CIA today — a CIA free from all consequence and accountability — is uninvolved in similar activities? The culprit, who claims to be 18 years old, managed to spam company staff with vulgar Slack messages, post a picture of a penis on the company’s internal websites, and leak images of Uber’s internal environment to the web. Now, the ride-share giant has released a statement providing details on its ordeal.

In particular, the company has released more information about how it was hacked, largely confirming an account made by the hacker themself. Uber says that the hacker exploited the login credentials of a company contractor to initially gain access to the network. The hacker may have originally bought access to those credentials via the dark web, Uber says. The hacker then used them to make multiple login attempts to the contractor’s account. The login attempts prompted a slew of multi-factor authentication requests for the contractor, who ultimately authenticated one of them. The hacker has previously claimed that it conducted a social engineering scheme to convince the contractor to authenticate the login attempt.

Security experts have called this an “MFA fatigue” attack. This increasingly common intrusion tactic seeks to overwhelm a victim with authentication push requests until they validate the hacker’s illegitimate login attempt.

Most interestingly, Uber has also claimed that whoever was behind this hacking episode is affiliated with the cybercrime gang “LAPSUS$.” It’s not totally clear how Uber knows that. The company’s statement reads:

We believe that this attacker (or attackers) are affiliated with a hacking group called Lapsus$, which has been increasingly active over the last year or so…There are also reports over the weekend that this same actor breached video game maker Rockstar Games.

As you may have heard, Rockstar Games was, indeed, hacked this week, in a fairly disastrous episode that saw footage of its unreleased title Grand Theft Auto VI leaked online in a fairly unfinished state. The hacker behind that breach is claiming that they’re the same person behind the Uber hack. Gizmodo reached out to Rockstar Games to inquire whether it could attribute its own data breach to the LAPSUS$ gang. We will update this story if we hear back.

LAPSUS$ rose to prominence earlier this year when the gang claimed to have hacked a number of prominent tech companies, including Microsoft, Cisco, Samsung, Okta, Nvidia, and Ubisoft, among others. The alleged ringleader of the gang, a 16-year-old who went by the pseudonym “White,” was arrested in March but, due to his age, his identity has not been publicly revealed. The gang has continued to be active, however, as this recent episode appears to demonstrate.

In its update, Uber also reiterated that it had not seen any evidence to suggest that user data was compromised during the incident:

…we’ve not seen that the attacker accessed the production (i.e. public-facing) systems that power our apps; any user accounts; or the databases we use to store sensitive user information, like credit card numbers, user bank account info, or trip history.
